In Arabic, أَمَارَة (Amara) is more than a name. It is a sign, a mark, a trace of something deeper.
Its root, أ-م-ر, is among the oldest in the Arabic language. It gives us emir, imaret, and emirate. These words live at the heart of اَلْإِمَارَات (Amārāt), the United Arab Emirates. A union of signs.
